FFETA Golf Day 2023

FFETA Golf Day 2023

Friday 12th May saw the second FFETA Charity golf day. Last year, FFETA raised R100 000 for Children of Fire and this year, they have adopted two charities, Care for Wild and the Avela Foundation. Care for Wild sent a very impactful video on the work they are doing with regard to rhino conservation and Tebogo Tsotetsi who is the programme manager for UMatter one of the partners of the Avela Foundation was present for the evening dinner and gave a most inciteful look into the workings of the UMatter programme focusing on burn survivors. We are happy to say that both charities will benefit to the tune of R50 000 each.

We were lucky to have perfect weather for this event and as is evidenced by the photographs (view them in the slideshow here), everyone had a wonderful time, even if the golf wasn’t up to par (excuse the pun), the entertainment was great.

For this we have to say thank you to all the four-balls as well as all the sponsors. Special thanks to the sponsors who went above and beyond,  such as the following:

  • AccuSherq who did not participate but for the second year running, sponsored the beautiful trophies.
  • TD Western Cape Fire, who last year, being unable to attend,  donated the money to sponsor a four-ball and this year, again donated the money which purchased our main raffle prize of the huge LG Smart TV.
  • Ithemba Skymark Security who sponsored all the wines on the table for the benefit of all those who stayed for dinner.

Congratulations go to the TMA Express Team led by Carl Hogg, for winning overall and to Nichola Allan of G2 Fire for winning the main raffle prize of the TV.

And of course, it goes without saying that we have to say the most enormous thank you to Reggie Marimuthu for his organisation of this event. Without his dedication and perseverance, the day would not have happened.
